For more than 40 years the Norwegian company Holte has been developing software for small and medium-sized companies.
Mainly construction companies and their back office. Our solutions are known for their high quality, great value for money and are pioneers in digital development on many levels. Our goal is simple; to make your daily life better and more efficient with digital solutions.
In 2011 Holte opened an office in Gdansk, Poland, where we employ 25 skilled and committed employees. We look forward to supporting companies on the Polish market with our digital solutions!

The beginnings of Holte
The beginnings of Holte date back to 1977, when Eilif Holte, a graduate of the Zurich Federal Technical University, founded Holte Prosjekt, followed by Holte Byggedata in 1988. It was the latter that gave rise to the processes that stabilised, developed and produced very good results in its subsequent years, thus laying the foundations for the company known today as Holte.
Eilif had a vision to reduce costs and increase efficiency in construction projects. He developed a completely new way of running projects, increasing efforts in the early stages of project preparation. This meant more preparation so that deployment became easier and more cost-effective. Eilif realised that an important part of project preparation is to make the correct calculations, i.e. to estimate the investment costs.

Holte's first product
In 1987, Holte began work on its first product, a book that included prices for different types of buildings, prices for elements as well as the listed benefits of working on new construction as well as conversions. This product is still available today and is one of the best-selling products in Holte's history. Its development has gone from a printed version, through refining and updating the content, to a complete digitalised one.

New branch in Gdańsk
Holte develops all software itself, and as the leader in the Norwegian market, has very high requirements for its development. In 2010, the company decided to create a completely new platform to replace the existing products. To realise this project, the sharpest minds were needed. It was thoroughly researched where to find markets with the best programmers. The final choice was made for Poland. Gdansk was the location because of its proximity to the airport and the distance between Norway and Poland. On this new path, Holte got to know Wiesław Kałkus, who contributed immensely to founding the Polish office in 2012, and who constantly leads our branch in Poland.
The branch in Gdańsk, known as Holte Software Poland Sp. z o.o. , was officially launched on 2 January 2012 with a staff of three. By the end of 2012, the staff had grown to sixteen people. On 1 October 2017, the Polish branch relocated to larger premises, and today it has twenty-six employees.

Launch of the HoltePortalen system
It should not be overlooked that the HoltePortalen system released in 2012 was the first project developed in the Polish department, its prototype was realised in 2013 and commissioned in 2015.

Holte Fleet GPS tracker sales department created
In April 2017, Holte Software Poland created a sales department for GPS trackers. Currently, it is one of the best-selling products on the Polish market. Since 2019, there has been a very dynamic development of the product, sales structures and technical support department.

Entry into EG structures and joint plans for the future
February 2020 marks a great day for Holte AS and Holte Software Poland Sp. z o.o. . At that time, both branches became part of the Danish EG consortium. EG AS is one of the leading software companies in Scandinavia, which develops software for both public and private customers. Its goal is to fully exploit the digital potential of its customers, and its solution is to be consistently customer-oriented, deeply understand the industry and attract its most skilled employees. EG has been operating for over 40 years in 4 countries, with 22 offices, 1,300 employees and over 20,000 customers.

2020 and future plans...
Currently our branch in Gdansk is working on the implementation of new solutions for the Polish market. Due to the great potential of this system, new tools will soon appear on the market, allowing for optimisation of the company's management. We set such a task for the flagship systems of our company, which are HoltePortalen for improving the processes of company management, and SmartKalk used for cost estimation of development investments. We are already selling the Time module for recording, approving and reporting the working hours of company employees.
We expect that the huge potential of our software will be welcomed on the Polish market with similar enthusiasm as on the Scandinavian markets.
